Due to upcoming software changes to the UM System Libraries catalog, all campuses must temporarily suspend the borrowing and lending of materials through MOBIUS beginning Friday, April 15, and shift to other methods of obtaining materials for users. Mobius services will be suspended for at least one year.

MOBIUS is the statewide consortium of academic and public libraries that agree to share materials. The UM System Libraries will reinstate MOBIUS services once it is possible with the new software.

This disruption does not impact MERLIN items because those are items shared within the four-campus system. Users can still receive materials from other libraries using the Interlibrary Loan process.

The library is working with the vendors and MOBIUS to reinstate services as soon as possible. Users will receive an alert when MOBIUS is reinstated. The UM System Libraries apologize for any inconvenience this causes to users.

Users should:

• Return all MOBIUS items to the library by their due date.

• Check laurel.lso.missouri.edu/patroninfo/ to find out your due dates for MOBIUS materials.

• Review materials checked out from the library and look for items with a green MOBIUS band around the cover.

• Work with library staff to obtain currently checked out MOBIUS items from Interlibrary Loan.

For more information, please contact Stephanie Chinn, at schinn@mst.edu.

The S&T Library will schedule periodic virtual office hours to provide a forum for discussion about the transition to a new cataloging system. For more information and updates, please visit library.mst.edu.
