Dr. William Fahrenholtz, Dr. Gregory Hilmas, and recent S&T Ph.D. graduate Dr. Alec Murchie co-authored a paper that was named one of the best papers of 2021 by the Journal of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS). German researchers Dr. Ravisankar Naraparaju and Keyur Maniya are also co-authors of the paper, titled “Effect of moisture on the oxidation behavior of ZrB2.”
Fahrenholtz is director of S&T’s Materials Research Center, and he and Hilmas are both Curators’ Distinguished Professors of ceramic engineering. Murchie was a GAANN fellow while at Missouri S&T. He recently graduated with a Ph.D. in ceramic engineering and successfully defended his dissertation.
The best-papers candidates are selected using several criteria, including recommendations from reviewers and associate editors, comments from readers, and numbers of downloads and citations.
