Dr. Xiong Zhang and Dr. Jenny Liu, both professors of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, served as session chairs and keynote speakers in recent international conferences.
Dr. Xiong Zhang delivered a presentation titled “Recent Advances in Measuring Volume of Soil Specimen in Triaxial Testing” at the Fifth International Conference on Transportation Infrastructure and Materials on Oct. 21. Over 1,000 individuals attended the online session.
The virtual 2021 Transportation Research Congress attracted over 1,500 online attendees. Zhang and Liu chaired sessions on “Geotechnics, G1. Transportation Geotechnics” and “Materials, M1. AC Design, Testing, and Performance.”
Zhang delivered a keynote address named “A Photogrammetry-Based Method to Measure Full-Field Displacement of Soil Specimens during Triaxial Testing.”
Liu delivered a keynote address named “Impacts of Lightweight Aggregates Interlayers for Air Convection Embankment on Pavement Performance in Permafrost Regions.”
