Here at the Beta-Chi Chapter of Kappa Sigma our goal is to excel and succeed in everything that we do, in a way to support this goal Kappa Sigma is offering the White Columns Scholarship to young men, entering or in their first or second year, who excel in any of the following characteristics:

Scholarship – Unyielding focus on academic achievement and life-long learning.
Leadership – Influences others to strive for transformative change and organizational growth through leading by example;
Athletics – Demonstrated athletic success or demonstrated sportsmanship with fair and generous behavior in a sports contest.
Fellowship – Prioritizes strong relationships with others.
Service – Seeks to help others in need and give back to the local community.

This year $4000 in scholarships will be awarded to five Missouri S&T students. Membership in Kappa Sigma is not required to apply or obtain a scholarship. The Beta-Chi Chapter believes that rewarding students who excel in these characteristics is a way to encourage students to be the best possible version of themself they can be.

On the national level, Kappa Sigma is the largest college social fraternity in the world with more than 200,000 living members, including 17,000 undergraduates and more than 300 chapters and colonies located throughout the United States and Canada. Kappa Sigma is built upon the Four Pillars of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. As a values-based men’s fraternity, Kappa Sigma strictly forbids hazing.

On the local level, the Beta-Chi Chapter emphasizes the same values that are passed down from Nationals. The Beta-Chi Chapter of Kappa Sigma at Missouri S&T has won the prestigious Face award 4 out of the last 5 years. FACE is the Founders Award for Chapter excellence and is the national benchmark award in Kappa Sigma recognizing the very best undergraduate chapters. In 2021, of the 300 plus Kappa Sigma chapters in the United States and Canada, only 31 received the FACE award with the Beta-Chi Chapter being one of those 31. During the 2020-2021 school year, the Beta-Chi Chapter completed more than 5,900 hours of community service and raised more than $22,200 for charity. Members are focused on academics, philanthropy, community involvement, fitness, and building leadership characteristics. The Beta-Chi Chapter consistently proves that we excel in everything we do. In 2021 we won Greek week, our second victory in the last 4 competitions. This is a campus wide competition where each fraternity competes against each other in a variety of events ranging from athletics to service. The Beta-Chi Chapter emphasizes leadership and offers members to step into leadership roles almost immediately. These leadership roles help develop your leadership skills as well as showcase the personable skills employers are looking for when they hire new employees.

Our 96 man, 26,000 sq. ft. home sits on 2 acres at the entrance to the university. Being recently remodeled, our chapter house is one of the nicest facilities on campus, with a computer room, dedicated study room, tv room, sand volleyball court, a soccer field, baseketball court, pool table, project room, and weight room. It is one of the few houses on campus that offers accommodations with private bathrooms and living rooms. Our rooms are the largest on campus.
