Theater students in Missouri S&T’s arts, languages and philosophy department will perform “Heathers: The Musical,” this month.
The performances will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14; Friday, Oct. 15; and Saturday, Oct. 16. There will also be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17. All performances will be held at Leach Theatre and will be directed by Taylor Gruenloh, assistant teaching professor of theatre.
The musical is based on the classic 1989 film “Heathers.” In the show, Westerberg High is ruled by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing group: Heather, Heather and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place – 6 feet under.
Tickets are $15 for the public and $10 for Missouri S&T students with a valid ID. The show is recommended for audiences ages 16 and older. Tickets can be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office, located inside the main entrance of Castleman Hall. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can also be purchased online at leachtheatre.mst.edu or by calling 573-341-4219. Service fees may apply to tickets purchased online or by phone.
