Ph.D. student earns second place in global poster contest

Waqas ur Rehman, Ph.D. candidate in electrical engineering, won the second prize out of 58 competitors in the graduate student poster competition at the IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting in July. The general meeting is the flagship conference for the IEEE Power and Energy Society.

His poster is titled “Sizing Energy Storage System for Energy Arbitrage in Extreme Fast Charging Station.”

This work was done as part of the project “Missouri S&T researchers win multimillion dollar grant to build fast-charging stations for electric cars” and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
