Kapiamba Fabrice, a Ph.D. student in civil, architectural and environmental engineering, received a 1st-place award for a talk he presented at the Mid-America Environmental Engineering Conference (MAEEC) on Sept. 25 at Washington University in St. Louis. The St. Louis chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Environmental Water Resources Institute presented the award.
Fabrice’s talk was about sampling and analyzing heavy metals from e-cigarette aerosols. He was one of three Missouri S&T students who spoke at the conference. The others were Mariam Al-Lami and Paul Manley, who are both Ph.D. students.
Missouri S&T established the MAEEC 25 years ago and will host the next conference in 2022.
