Dr. Hank Pernicka, professor of aerospace engineering and Dean’s Educator Scholar, will present a talk titled “Building Microsatellites for the Future,” 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, via Zoom.

Take a look at how microsatellites could be used to inspect satellites, do small repairs or refuel spacecraft – and help eliminate the need for risky EVAs (“spacewalks”) when something goes wrong.

Join the live event on Zoom and you’ll automatically be entered in a drawing to win a special gift bag, courtesy of the Missouri 2021 Bicentennial and S&T’s 150th anniversary.

The lecture is part of the Missouri 2021 Bicentennial Alliance lecture series hosted by S&T. The series, “Honoring our past, envisioning the future,” celebrates the rich cultural history of our region and explores social and economic growth topics relative to Missourians. All lectures in the series will be available for live public viewing. Missouri 2021 is an initiative of The State Historical Society of Missouri and its Center for Missouri Studies.
