A healthy Missouri — Celebrate Extension and Engagement Week

The University of Missouri Extension and Engagement Week 2021 starts Monday, Oct. 18. With a focus on health and well-being, the week will provide opportunities to explore health equity, the opioid crisis and health data and to hear from leaders and thinkers from across the state. All events are free and virtual; please register online for the Zoom links.

Highlights include:

  • 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18: The Opioid Crisis in Missouri
  • 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18: UM System Response and Engagement
  • 1 pm. Monday, Oct. 18: Health Strategies for Rural Missouri
  • 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19: Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health Building Grand Opening
  • 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19: Health Equity Keynote and Panel featuring Dr. Dwayne Proctor, president and CEO of the Missouri Foundation for Health
  • 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20: All Things Missouri Health, featuring Bethany Johnson Javois, president and CEO of Deaconess Foundation.

The week’s mission is to bring together the four universities in the UM System, MU Extension, MU Health and statewide partners, stakeholders, state agency leaders and legislators in the spirit of working together to learn, brainstorm, and create a plan for improving the health, well-being and health outcomes for people throughout the state of Missouri.
