Your shot to win big

Missouri S&T employees received the following message on Aug. 13:

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As we look forward to the beginning of the fall semester and welcoming students to campus, we must be mindful of the current level of COVID-19 cases in Phelps County and relatively low vaccination rates. Missouri S&T encourages everyone to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination and mask-wearing remain the strongest tools in the fight against this virus, including the Delta variant that has enveloped this area.

To further encourage this healthy action, Missouri S&T is launching a vaccine incentive program. Staff, faculty and students who provide a record of their COVID-19 vaccination can enter to win prizes with a series of drawings starting the third week of classes (Sept. 7-10). Incentives include:

  • For every staff member who reports their COVID-19 vaccination, $20 will be donated to Staff Council’s Employee Scholarship Program.
  • The first 10 departments to report they are 100% vaccinated will win a pizza party.
  • Individual prizes, including an Apple watch, Yeti cooler and one year of Amazon Prime.

There are also prizes for S&T students. Check out a full list of prizes at coronavirus.mst.edu/win.

The earlier you report your vaccination, the more prizes you will be eligible to win! Weekly prize drawings begin the week of Tuesday, Sept. 7. To be eligible, report your vaccination in myHR. Login at myhr.umsystem.edu, click the “COVID Vaccine Upload” tile and follow the instructions.

We also want to make it easy for you to get vaccinated if you have not done so. S&T will host vaccine clinics on Wednesday, Aug. 18, and Wednesday, Aug. 25, with second-dose clinics planned in September. Get more details on these clinics or find other vaccine opportunities in the Rolla area at coronavirus.mst.edu/vaccinations.

This semester gives us an opportunity to provide students with the best S&T has to offer. Please join us in taking the necessary steps to protect yourself and our community of students, staff and faculty.
