Dr. Grace Yan, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, has been elected to the board of directors of the North American Alliance of Hazards and Disasters Research Institute (NAAHDRI). During Yan’s service, she wants to promote collaboration among engineers, climatologists urban planners and members of other disciplines that are working to enhance community resilience after natural disasters. Yan plans to also promote international collaboration to combat climate change.
NAAHDRI brings together the leaders of hazards and disaster research centers and institutes throughout North America as well as partner individuals and organizations to advance research, education, advocacy and action. NAAHDRI has 82 member institutions, including 70 U.S. institutions in the in 30 states.
