The Division of Enrollment Management welcomes John Gettemeyer as the director of new student programs. He will be responsible for undergraduate, graduate, and international new student programming. Starting today (Monday, Sept. 13), he will report to Shobi Sivadasan, vice provost of enrollment management.
Gettemeyer joins S&T from Indiana State University where he served as assistant director of new student transition programs. An S&T alumnus, he holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also earned a master’s degree in education, with a focus on higher education student affairs, from Fort Hayes State University.
“I’d like to thank Mike Pleimann, assistant director of new student programs, who served as the acting director for the last 16 months,” Sivadasan says. “Mike was instrumental in onboarding our new undergraduate students during the peak of COVID-19 in Fall 2020 as well as the recent Fall 2021 class in a seamless manner. In addition, this fall Mike also handled the first graduate and international student orientation within the division and provided this group of students a welcoming orientation experience.”
Pleimann will continue to serve as the assistant director and work closely with Gettemeyer on building on the existing programming for incoming S&T students.
