Missouri S&T will host the 2021 Fall Career Fair 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for three days: Tuesday, Sept. 28, Wednesday, Sept. 29, and Thursday, Sept. 30. Here is what you need to know:
To allow for more social distancing and fewer people in an area at one time, the fair will be held over three days instead of the typical one-day fair. The first two days (Tuesday, Sept. 28, and Wednesday, Sept. 29) will be held in-person in S&T’s Student Recreation Center and the third day (Thursday, Sept. 30) will be held virtually through the Career Fair Plus app. The fair will run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day and 95% of the companies will be different each day of the fair.
Access all three days of the fair using the Career Fair Plus mobile app. On the app, you can filter by day, major and industry to plan your route using an interactive map with details about each company. Please bring your mobile device to the fair; there will not be a printed map. The virtual day (Thursday, Sept. 30) will be by appointments only. Start booking your appointments at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, through the Career Fair Plus app or at app.careerfairplus.com.
Professional dress is required. Missouri S&T offers a career closet on the third floor of Norwood Hall to provide students with professional attire for Career Fairs, job interviews and employer networking events. Approximately 500 students use it each year. Get details at career.mst.edu/careercloset.
Don’t forget to bring printed copies of your resume to the in-person fair and upload your resume to your Career Fair Plus profile. This is very important. Employers won’t contact you for follow-up questions or with employment offers if they don’t have your contact information.
All attendees to the career fair will be required to wear facial coverings, regardless of vaccination status. Handshaking is highly discouraged. There will be one-way traffic in the gym and hand sanitizing stations throughout. Employer booths will be separated by curtains.
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 on the day of the fair, please do not attend the fair and instead contact career@mst.edu for information on alternate ways to connect with employers outside of the fair.
Yes, pretty much. To sum up: download the Career Plus app, build your profile, upload your resume, print your resume, look at attending companies, map your route, prepare your power introduction, find your professional clothes, and then get a job, co-op or internship.
