Missouri S&T has updated its COVID-19 guidance for non-academic indoor gatherings and activities to allow for up to 50% room capacity. All participants are encouraged to wear face coverings, regardless of vaccination status, and social distancing should be maintained as much as possible.

This guidance change does not affect current requirements for classrooms, labs, or other indoor teaching and learning spaces.

Outside groups wishing to meet in university-owned buildings may do so as long as they do not exceed 25% capacity and follow S&T’s recommendations regarding face coverings and social distancing. This lower capacity is due to the lower vaccination rates in Phelps County and the region in comparison to campus vaccination rates.

At this time, there are no restrictions on the size of outdoor events.

Planners of all non-academic events can find information about room capacities at these webpages:

Planners of non-academic events that may exceed the 50% capacity guidance (or 25% capacity for external organizations using S&T facilities) should complete this form to request an exception from the university.
