Missouri S&T is launching a vaccine incentive program for students, faculty and staff. Students received the following message on Aug. 13:

Hello Miners,

We excitedly look forward to the beginning of the fall semester and welcoming you to campus, whether you are beginning or wrapping up your academic career at S&T. Fall 2021 represents a significantly different environment than we experienced in March 2020, and requires all our attention and participation to keep our campus safe and keep us moving forward.

As student leaders have been doing throughout the summer, we encourage all members of the Missouri S&T community to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination and mask-wearing remain the strongest tools in the fight against this virus, including the Delta variant that has enveloped our community.

To further encourage our community to get vaccinated, Missouri S&T is launching a vaccine incentive program. You can win fabulous prizes, including:

• free parking on campus for a year
• moped and parking spot
• Harry Potter LEGO set (Hogwarts Castle with minifigures)
• S&T scholarships up to $5,000.

These are just a few of the prizes for students. There are also prizes for S&T faculty and staff. Check out a full list of prizes at coronavirus.mst.edu/win.

The earlier you report your vaccination, the more prizes you will be eligible to win! Weekly prize drawings begin the week of Tuesday, Sept. 7. To be eligible, report your vaccination in the Student Health Portal, https://mst.studenthealthportal.com and then sign up for the prize drawings. If you have already submitted information to the Student Health Portal, then all you need to do is enter for prize drawings.

We also want to make it easy for you to get vaccinated if you have not done so. S&T will host vaccine clinics on Wednesday, Aug. 18, and Wednesday, Aug. 25, with second-dose clinics planned in September. This semester gives us an opportunity to unite, make new friends, build our professional networks and experience the best S&T has to offer. You’ll have plenty of chances to get involved, including MinerRama on Aug. 27, concerts and comedian performances hosted by SUB, career fairs and the 114th Annual Best Ever St. Pat’s.
