The SMART (Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation) Scholarship-for Service Program is available to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a technical degree in one of 21 STEM disciplines.
SMART is a one-for-one commitment; for every year of degree funding, the scholar commits to working for a year with the Department of Defense as a civilian employee. Summer internships prepare scholars for full-time employment and get them accustomed to working with the Department of Defense. The submission site opened on Aug. 1 and will close Wednesday, Dec. 1.

Please notify Abbie Sherman (abigayle@mst.edu) if you plan to apply for the SMART scholarship. If there is enough interest, the VCR’s Office might be able to provide support to assist with writing of the applications.
