Missouri S&T leaders discussed the upcoming fall semester during a virtual town hall yesterday (July 20) and answered questions from students and their families, faculty, and staff. Many attendees asked about face coverings. Below is a summary of S&T’s face covering guidelines:

  • At this time, face coverings are not required for the campus community (students, faculty, staff and visitors) when at S&T. There is no immediate change in S&T’s current guidelines. Read the current guidelines, which were announced May 17.
  • S&T leaders are strongly considering a face mask requirement for everyone when indoors, vaccinated or unvaccinated, during Opening Week and the beginning of the fall semester.
  • There are discussions at the system level and across the state and nation that may influence S&T’s decisions moving forward.
  • Face coverings will be required of all participants at the commencement ceremony Saturday, July 31. This includes graduates, guests, and faculty or staff who volunteer to work at the event.
