Ahmad to discuss Missouri animals, Overland Trails

Join the Rolla Public Library for Dr. Diana Ahmad’s talk titled “Missouri Animals and the Overland Trails” 5-6 p.m. Monday, July 19, via the library’s Facebook page. Watch live and chat your questions.

Ahmad has written extensively about the American West, including the unique relationships that developed between frontier settlers and animals. She will discuss her book, titled Success Depends on the Animals: Emigrants, Livestock, and Wild Animals on the Overland Trails, 1840-1869.

A recording will also be available and posted on the Missouri Bicentennial section of the library’s website at rollapubliclibrary.org/adults-missouri-bicentennial.
