Three Missouri S&T faculty were honored by the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) on May 12. Each year the CCCC recognizes technical and scientific communication scholarship in six categories with six awards. Two of the 2021 awards went to English and technical communication faculty at S&T.

Dr. Edward A. Malone, professor, received the 2021 CCCC Technical and Scientific Communication Award in the category of Best Article Reporting Historical Research or Textual Studies in Technical and Scientific Communication. His article, titled “‘Don’t Be a Dilbert’: Transmedia Storytelling as Technical Communication during and after World War II” was published August 2019 in the journal Technical Communication.

Malone, along with associate professors Dr. Daniel Reardon and Dr. David Wright, received the 2021 CCCC Technical and Scientific Communication Award in the category of Best Original Collection of Essays in Technical or Scientific Communication for their August 2019 “Special Issue on Transmedia, Participatory Culture, and Digital Creation” in the journal Technical Communication.

The CCCC is the world’s largest professional organization for researching and teaching composition, from writing to new media.
