Missouri S&T’s Miner Wellness and counseling services departments have combined into one department. The new department within the Division of Student Affairs is named student well-being.
Student well-being provides counseling services, health promotion initiatives, and prevention programs to help S&T students thrive and enhance their personal, academic and professional success.
“As an integrated department, student well-being can provide more coordinated, comprehensive support for campus,” says Jessica Gargus, director of student well-being. “With a multidisciplinary staff, and using a public health model, we will be able to better address the complex factors that contribute to mental well-being. We will also be able to continue the JED Campus Health and Well-Being Committee’s progress.”
Website updates are underway. Social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) for @sandtwellbeing will provide updates and details regarding S&T’s student well-being department, as well as student health services and care management.
