Forums planned for vice provost of academic support candidates

Virtual open forums with three finalists for the position of vice provost of academic support will begin next week. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend the forums, which will be held as follows:

Position description

The position of vice provost of academic support at Missouri S&T requires excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact and advocate in a collegial manner with faculty, staff, students and other constituents. An earned doctorate in a discipline represented at Missouri S&T is required, as is the rank of tenured full professor (or be qualified for appointment to the rank of full professor at the time of beginning the position). Candidates must be able to show their experience improving retention and graduation rates, enhancing learning environments, and promoting student academic success. Strong leadership abilities are critical, especially the ability to work across university divisions in developing teams, building consensus, and setting and achieving goals. Experience managing personnel, budgets and administrative functions is required. Knowledge of and experience with academic department operations and academic accreditation is required.
