Hasselmann Alumni House earned first place in the 13th annual St. Pat’s door decorating contest for its spirited design in the multiple-occupant door category. Amber Stienberger, manager of Hasselmann Alumni House, and Lauren Sheeder, a senior in civil engineering and event assistant at Hasselman, conceptualized the design, and Sheeder created the artwork.
The winning design featured a life-sized, masked-up Joe Miner with a Miner Alumni Association shillelagh in a set decorated with palm trees, parrots, shiny shamrocks, and snakes to depict the 113th Annual Best-Ever theme of “St. Pat’s in Paradise.”
The annual contest is sponsored by the Lambda Sigma Pi women’s service organization of Missouri S&T. It also includes awards for single-occupant door designs, with all entries judged on a nine-criteria point system. Winners were announced during the March 10 St. Pat’s Court Arrival.
