Throughout a 35-year partnership, the University of Missouri South African Education Program has supported over 900 faculty exchanges between the University of the Western Cape in South Africa and all four UM System universities. The call for proposals is now open. Proposals should be submitted to Jeanie Hofer at jeanie@mst.edu by 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15.

Learn more about the program during a symposium at noon Wednesday, April 7, via Zoom. Register for the symposium.

The symposium will feature Umesh Bawa, international relations director at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) and Rod Uphoff, director of the University of Missouri South African Education Program (UMSAEP). They will describe the program, the application process and how to find a collaborator. In addition, a panel of previous participants from each campus and from UWC will answer questions.

If you cannot attend the April 7 symposium, please register to receive a copy of the recording. For more information, contact Wil Palmieri, senior study abroad coordinator at the University of Missouri-Columbia, at palmieriw@missouri.edu or Hilary Baumann, executive assistant for international programs at MU, at baumannh@missouri.edu.
