Mark Bookout, who has served as Missouri S&T’s chief information officer for the past year, will begin a new role as director of IT for research for both Missouri S&T and the University of Missouri-Columbia effective Monday, March 1. He will also serve as interim associate CIO at S&T as Brandon Hough, director of distributed IT at MU, will assume the additional duty of interim CIO for S&T, also on Monday.
“Mark’s experience and background in providing research support at S&T will serve both universities well as we move forward to advance our research mission,” says Beth Chancellor, CIO for MU and the University of Missouri System. “I’m grateful for Mark’s service as CIO this past year and look forward to working with him in this new role.”
A permanent CIO for Missouri S&T is expected to be announced by summer, Chancellor says. At that time, Bookout will focus fully on research services.
