Missouri S&T’s second virtual career fair drew more than 3,300 student attendees – beating out the university’s record of student attendance by nearly 1,000. Representatives from 198 companies met with students and alumni in more than 8,500 appointments.

“Please encourage students to not get discouraged if they didn’t get a next-day interview,” says Dr. Will Zwikelmaier, director of career opportunities and employer relations (COER). “Because of the virtual environment, most companies have drawn new timelines for recruitment, which means over the next weeks we expect to see our students engage in hundreds more interviews.”

Zwikelmaier thanks the COER staff members who worked from their homes and battled rolling blackouts and poor network connections across the nation to ensure all students were able to connect or follow up with recruiters.

The COER team includes: Jessica Boles, business support specialist; Sara Earl, senior student support specialist; Meagan Jackson, student service coordinator; Amy Jernigan; student service coordinator; and Sammatha Wilcox, senior student support specialist.
