Canadian researcher to discuss AI in construction engineering

Known for her 30-year career in artificial intelligence (AI) and developing advanced decision support systems for the construction industry by combining fuzzy logic with AI and other simulation techniques, Dr. Aminah Robinson Fayek will deliver the 2021 Hurst-McCarthy Lecture at Missouri S&T.

Fayek will give a lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence Solutions in Construction Engineering and Management,” at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, via Zoom.

She will share her background and inspiration for using AI to improve construction, competitiveness and innovation. She will illustrate the challenges presented by construction problems and how AI can be used to overcome those challenges. She will also share her vision for future research and discuss the importance and relevance of working closely with industry professionals to advance both research and practice in construction.
