At yesterday’s virtual town hall meeting, S&T leaders noted that higher education employees (faculty and staff) were in the Phase 1B category for COVID-19 vaccinations in Missouri. Following the meeting, the state of Missouri updated guidelines for vaccine distribution, and higher education employees are now in the Phase 2 category for vaccine distribution.
Some faculty and staff may belong to the Phase 1B category: individuals age 65 and older and adults with increased risk for severe illness.
The vaccine will be distributed in four phases. That distribution and the flow of the vaccine availability is controlled by county, state and federal health officials, who also decide when a particular group will be able to get vaccinated. Please check the state website for the most up-to-date information on the COVID-19 vaccine.
