Professor, alumnus named to commission for hazardous waste management

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced eight appointments to various boards and commissions on Dec. 17. He appointed two individuals with ties to Missouri S&T to the Missouri Hazardous Waste Management Commission.

The appointees are:

  • Adam Nanney of Holts Summit, who earned a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering from S&T in 2008
  • Dr. Daniel B. Oerther, professor of environmental health engineering at S&T.

Established in 1977, the commission promotes hazardous waste recycling, reuse and reduction; adopts, modifies and repeals rules and regulations to implement and enforce the Missouri Hazardous Waste Management Law; holds hearings on rules, complaints and permit appeals; and grants individual variances.
