St. Louis Post-Dispatch business columnist David Nicklaus interviewed Dr. George Holmes Jr. and Keiry Moreno Bonnett about their start-up company, Hire Henry, for his Dec. 10 column titled “Minority firms struggle in St. Louis. UMSL accelerator hopes to close the gap.” Holmes earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from S&T in 2020 and Bonnett earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2020.

Dr. George Markowsky, professor and associate chair for graduate studies in computer science, participated on a video panel to discuss the life of his friend, Richard Morley, an inventor credited with developing the programmable logic controller. The program, which centered on the 50th anniversary of the PLC, was produced for White House Chronicle and appeared on various television stations across the country and on satellite radio.
