As part of a systemwide effort to expand online enrollment, Missouri S&T Global Learning will report to the Office of eLearning, effective Monday, Jan. 4. This administrative change will not affect the services or revenue provided to the S&T campus. Global Learning will continue its daily operations of providing support for S&T’s distance programs, professional education offerings and youth programs.
“We see this as a win-win for Global Learning,” says Dr. Caprice Moore, interim vice provost of global learning. “By joining with eLearning, we will have access to the resources we need to increase our program offerings. This move will allow S&T to bring its programs into an online format more quickly.”
This change reflects the strategic goals of the UM System to unify its online presence in order to enhance the learner experience, increase quality and improve efficiency. Global Learning joins MU, UMSL and UMKC online units that have already transitioned to the new structure.
“We look forward to new and expanded opportunities in online and distance learning through S&T’s partnership with eLearning,” says Dr. Steve Roberts, interim provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.
