A new one-time course on Pandemic Literature will be offered this spring as History/English/ALP 3001. It will be taught by Marie Lathers, the Weiner Distinguished Visiting Professor of the Humanities, on MWF 2-2:50. We will read fiction about plagues and pandemics by Daniel Defoe, Edgar Allan Poe, Jack London, Katherine Anne Porter, Albert Camus, Geraldine Brooks, Stewart O’Nan, and Colson Whitehead. Come discuss how historical and imaginary pandemics have been described in stories that will knock your socks off!
