Dr. Mo Dehghani, chancellor of Missouri S&T, sent the following message to students, faculty and staff on Dec. 3, 2020:
Distinguished colleagues, dear friends and dedicated students,
We made it! We are near the end of the semester and I want to thank you sincerely for making this semester such a success! Because of your hard work and dedication to keep our campus safe, we remained open and we are well-positioned to begin the spring semester as planned, with classes starting Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Our plan is to continue with a multi-modal approach to learning – in other words, a blend of in-person, online and hybrid instruction. At this time, we plan to follow our Spring 2021 academic calendar. However, please be ready to pivot if the need arises to transition to all remote instruction — or, if we’re able to relax some of our COVID-19 guidelines, to even pivot to fully in-person instruction.
As we complete the semester, I commend you all for your outstanding efforts to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our campus while going the extra mile (or more) to ensure a successful semester. I extend my good wishes to all students for success on your final examinations. Approximately 800 degrees will be conferred at the upcoming commencement ceremony. Please join me in honoring all our accomplished graduates at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, via Facebook Live.
Furthermore, I extend my gratitude to all students, faculty and staff for your understanding and cooperation during this semester.
Sincerely,
Mo Dehghani
Chancellor
