Talk planned on asphalt technology

Dr. Magdy Abdelrahman will present a research seminar titled “A Program in Asphalt Technology and Sustainability: Research Challenges and Strategies” at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Abdelrahman is the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering at S&T.
He will discuss challenges facing the use of recycled mixes in asphalt and suggest strategies to address those challenges based on current and earlier research work, which indicates the need to focus on understanding the interactions of asphalt with recycled materials.
