Concrete team claims third place in innovative design category

Missouri S&T’s student team placed in the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Solutions Competitions on Oct. 25, 2020, during the ACI Virtual Concrete Convention. The team finished third in the Most Innovative Design/Developmental Use of Concrete category with their floating concrete entry.

Missouri S&T’s team members are:

  • Victoria Smith, chapter president and a senior in mechanical engineering
  • Elizabeth Sayre, a junior in ceramic engineering
  • Alex Zarate, an sophomore in architectural engineering
  • Alec McMurry, a sophomore in architectural engineering
  • Kearn Mccullough, a senior in civil engineering
  • Kenneth Flores, a senior in civil engineering
  • Austin Richardson, a senior in civil engineering.

Eighteen teams representing six countries competed for cash prizes. The winners were announced during the ACI Student Forum on Oct. 27.
