Do you enjoy riding roller coasters? Have you ever wondered what makes that famous “click-clack, click-clack” sound as the ride goes up the main hill? Did you know that there is a Disneyland in Paris and multiple others across Asia, too – not just Florida and California? Or perhaps have you ever pondered what it would be like to work as a Walt Disney “Imagineer”, designing the rides and attractions of Disney Parks?
If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about how roller coasters or theme parks as a whole operate, this is the club for you!
There are many exciting things in the theme park industry, and here at Roller Coasters and Innovative Designs in Entertainment Society (R.I.D.E.S.), we are eager to share what makes this global industry so incredibly fascinating!
Our members are passionate not only about roller coasters and theme parks, but everything that makes them thrill. As engineering students of S&T, many aspire to work in the theme park industry someday. Some fortunate enough to have held experiences working in the field are willing to offer their advice to others interested in careers in the industry on how to make their dreams come true.
This semester, come join us for talks from industry leaders, design competitions, games and activities, social and professional networking, frequent ticket giveaway to local parks (Six Flags, Silver Dollar City, etc.), and (of course) good old roller coaster discussion! Meetings will be conducted via bi-weekly via Zoom, so be sure to catch us on Engage to sign up!
