Content Warning: LGBTQ+ hate crimes

On October 7, 1998, Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old student at the University of Wyoming, was brutally attacked and tied to a fence in a field outside of Laramie, Wyoming, and left to die. On October 12, Matt died in a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Join student diversity initiatives at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, via Zoom to watch a short film featuring interviews with experts who describe why crimes against gays have reached such a boiling point. Afterwards, the equity and Title IX staff will describe the reporting process for campus policy violations.

Register to attend the event.
