Seven S&T faculty win President’s Awards

University of Missouri President Mun Choi has announced the recipients of the 2020 President’s Awards to faculty members across the four universities of the UM System. The awards recognize faculty who have made exceptional contributions in advancing the university’s mission. The recipients will be recognized at a Board of Curators meeting on their university campus, as well as at a faculty awards event hosted at their campus.

The seven S&T awardees are:

  • Dr. Rui Bo, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, who received the President’s Award for Early Career Excellence
  • Dr. James Drallmeier, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, who received the President’s Award for University Citizenship – Leadership
  • Dr. William Fahrenholtz, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of materials science and engineering, who received the President’s Award for Sustained Career Excellence
  • Dr. Kamal Khayat, Vernon and Maralee Jones Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies, who received the President’s Award for Sustained Career Excellence
  • Dr. Fateme Rezaei, assistant professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, who received the President’s Award for Early Career Excellence
  • Dr. Kathleen Sheppard, associate professor of history and political science, who received the President’s Award for Innovative Teaching
  • Dr. David Westenberg, associate professor of biological sciences, who received the President’s Award for Community Engagement.
