Most of us want to help someone in distress, but often feel uncertain about what to do or say. Staff and faculty can sign up for training to learn to recognize symptoms often associated with mental health problems and leave with an action plan to respond effectively.

The course titled “RESPOND: Partnering for Campus Mental Health” will address policies such as FERPA, crisis and mental health resources. The two-part workshop will meet 1:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, and Wednesday, Sept. 23. Register online.

It is available to faculty and staff at all four universities within the UM System.Registration indicates a commitment to participate in both sessions.
