If you were unable to join the May 15 webinar “Leadership in Turbulent Times” by U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Samuel “Bo” Mahaney, you can view a recording of it online.
He discussed leadership strategies for the rapid-response, global air operations required for humanitarian support for the COVID-19 and other critical missions.
“You always fall
back,” he said. “So something as disruptive as this, you are very rarely going
to rise up. You are going to fall back on your training and education. We fell
back on the system we built.”
Mahaney is a two-star general and chief of staff of Air Mobility Command (AMC).
The AMC comprises 107,000 airmen and civilians who provide global airlift,
aerial refueling, air mobility support and aeromedical evacuation. Mahaney is
an S&T graduate originally from St. James, Missouri. He is stationed at
Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and is a command pilot with more than 5,100
flying hours.
