The 2020 Gordon Research Conference on Advanced Materials for Sustainable Infrastructure Development featured strong representation from Missouri S&T. The event was held Feb. 23-28 in Ventura, California.
Dr. Kamal Khayat, the Vernon and Maralee Jones Professor of Civil Engineering and director of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies, co-chaired the conference. S&T attendees included:
Dr. Aditya Kumar, assistant professor of materials science and engineering, and Dr. Dimitri Feys, assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, who gave presentations at the conference.
Dr. Nima Farzadnia, a post-doctoral fellow of the Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies, co-chaired the Gordon Research Seminar on “Concrete Solutions towards Carbon-Neutral Construction by 2050.” Dr. Hongyan Ma, assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, served as a discussion leader.
Kavaya Vallurupalli, a Ph.D. student in civil engineering, won one of the conference’s two best poster awards.
