Attend a two-part workshop on research funding 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, via Zoom. Feel free to join one or both sessions. To attend, RSVP to Abigayle Sherman, executive assistant, at abigayle@mst.edu by Tuesday, April 14.
The first hour-long session will be geared to early career faculty. It will cover various types of early career funding opportunities, proposal support and submission services available through the office of the vice chancellor of research (OVCR), interacting with federal agencies, and addressing broader impact requirements. If you attended the in-person early career faculty forum on Jan. 31, the first session will be largely a review of the information provided there.
The second hour-long session will be for a broader audience of researchers and will cover proposal development as project management, including how to look at each funding announcement and determine case-by-case the documentation resources available from the sponsor, why to treat each proposal as a team project that requires project management (even when you’re the only investigator), and the importance of developing task and work breakdowns even when they aren’t required by the sponsors.
