Dr. R. Wayne Jones has been named Missouri S&T’s senior director of institutional research and data management. He previously served as director of strategic information and effectiveness at the University of Arkansas. At the University of Arkansas, he directed development and streamlining of strategic data modeling, academic data systems, accreditation and assessment initiatives.

Jones began his duties at S&T on April 13. He reports to Dr. Steve Roberts, interim provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.

“While it is an interesting time to transition to Missouri S&T and Rolla, I look forward to collaborating with the campus community in re-engaging institutional research at Missouri S&T to improve access actionable data for campus decision making,” Jones says.

Jones earned a doctorate of education in higher education with a focus on faculty leadership from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.He holdsa master of education degree in instructional systems from Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Colorado Technical University. He is also a U.S. Air Force combat veteran.
