The S&T Speech and Debate team competed in the 2020 Missouri Association of Forensics Activities (MAFA) Championship Feb. 14-15 at Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri. Two students brought home awards from the competition of 11 universities from the Midwest and southern regions.
Missouri S&T students entered five speaking events and debated in team Public Forum.
Marcus Vasquez earned second place as a speaker in the public forum category and ranked third overall in the Presidential Sweepstakes.
Ashton Massardo earned second place as a speaker in the public forum category.
Kendrea James, assistant teaching professor of arts, languages and philosophy, is the team’s coach.
