The S&T Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is proud to host Dr. Jean-Louis Briaud, PH.D., P.E., D.GE, DIST.M.ASCE, the ASCE 2021 President, at 7:00p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Dr. Briaud will discuss many recent ASCE initiatives and the future of civil engineering. This talk will touch on the grand challenges we face as a society now and into the future – particularly in investing and maintaining our infrastructure to improve the quality of life in both the United States and worldwide.
ASCE is an international body of professionals in the civil engineering profession. As the oldest national engineering society in the United States with more than 150,000 members in 177 countries, ASCE stands at the forefront of a profession that plans, designs, constructs, and operates society’s economic and social engine – the built environment – while protecting and restoring the natural environment.
