Emergency services during winter break

Most university offices will be closed during the winter break, from Wednesday, Dec. 25, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, and will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 2. During this time the following services are available for anyone in crisis or in the event of any emergency:

911 or University Police at 341-4300

For emergencies with immediate danger to life or self or others. University Police will operate 24/7 during the winter break and will be available to connect individuals to appropriate resources.

Crisis Text Line: text HOME to 741-741

This is a global not-for-profit organization that provides free crisis intervention via SMS message. The services are available 24/7 by texting 741-741.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255

This U.S.-based suicide prevention network includes 161 crisis centers that provide a 24/7 free hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.

Compass Health Hotline at 800-833-3915

This is staffed by mental health professionals 24/7. All calls are strictly confidential.

Phelps Health at 573-458-8899

The Phelps Health Emergency Room is located at 1000 W. 10th St. in Rolla

All members of the S&T community are also encouraged to download the Sanvello wellness app for their smartphones. This app is free with to all who sign up with their mst.edu address.
