Missouri S&T has received reports of scam emails that request the recipient to change his or her direct deposit information. If you receive this request, you should react this way:

  • Check that the email sender’s name and email match your domain.
  • Do not reply directly to the sender from that email.
  • Call or talk to the person making the request in person or open a new email and type in the email address that matches the one that you know is valid for that person.
  • Never give personal information or money transfers without first verifying the information in person.

If you receive an email that you believe is a scam, please send the header information to security@mst.edu to report the abuse.
