Bai receives SPE distinguished membership

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) honored Dr. Baojun Bai with SPE distinguished membership at the society’s annual Technical Conference and Exhibition Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Calgary, Canada. Bai is the Lester R. Birbeck Endowed Professor in geosciences and geological and petroleum engineering.

Bai was recognized for his work in production fluids research, pioneering the preformed particle gel conformance control technology, developing novel water-in-oil emulsion systems, publishing 170 papers, and impact on S&T’s graduate program.

SPE serves more than 164,000 members worldwide. Each year, SPE presents awards that recognize members whose efforts have advanced petroleum technology, as well as their professional achievements and contributions to the industry and the society.
