Seminar on the challenges, mechanics and design strategies behind a new medical device for biomedicine

Dr. Huanyu Cheng, assistant professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics (ESM) and Materials Research Institute (MRI) at Pennsylvania State University, will present “Dissolvable Tattoo Electronics for Biomedicine” 12:30-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Room 124 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall.

Cheng was named the Dorothy Quiggle Career Development Professor in 2015. He has worked as a visiting research fellow with Professor John A. Rogers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on stretchable and transient electronics. Throughout Cheng’s research career, he has worked on mechanics design and manufacturing of biologically inspired electronics with applications in robotics, biomedicine and energy.
