Are you a freshmen looking to increase your leadership ability? Or do you know a freshmen student who wants to develop these skills? The Chancellor’s Leadership Academy (CLA) is a great way to grow leadership potential for first year students, and provides an opportunity to learn and grow into future roles. Nominate a student here or you can apply at https://cla.mst.edu/apply/.

Please contact Shasta Johnson (shastaj@mst.edu) with any questions! More information and a flyer below:

CLA is a yearlong in-person leadership and professional skill development academy available to freshmen starting their second semester. Developed from top employer training programs – the sessions are focused on building the National Association of Colleges and Employers core competencies. So in addition to leadership, participants are building skills in areas like communication, teamwork, and problem solving. Participants also receive networking and mentor support from both the University and corporate leaders, and have access to a minimum of 6 exclusive sessions with distinguished alumni and the Chancellor. The goal of this program is to encourage students to match their passions, strength and skills to a student organization or campus need with a plan to seek a leadership position and continue to build their leadership skills for their professional life.
• Only open to freshmen students (apply first semester of Freshman year – sessions will begin Spring of second Freshman semester, and continue Fall first semester of Sophomore year)
• Applications close Friday October 25th
• Meetings will occur Wednesdays from 4-6pm

If you would like a representative from CLA to present to your organization – please email Shasta Johnson (shastaj@mst.edu).
