2018 Celebration of Nations

The 2018 Celebration of Nations parade and festivities. Terry Barner/Missouri S&T

Do you have an interest in a country that you have lived in, visited or that you find fascinating? Sign up to carry the country’s flag during Celebration of Nations Saturday, Sept. 28. The Parade of Nations will begin at 11 a.m. in downtown Rolla.

Here’s how to sign up:

  1. Click this link for SignUp.com: signup.com/go/roMSjCQ
  2. Review the options listed and choose a country
  3. Sign up. It’s easy – you do not need to register an account or create a password.

Organizers are trying to get more than 70 countries represented. Each country needs at least two volunteers for the parade: one to carry the sign and one to carry the flag. Additional walkers are welcome. Invite friends and family members who would also like to represent a country in the parade. Many participants choose to wear traditional clothing from their home countries.

If someone has already signed up to carry the flag and sign for the country you’d like, please feel free to represent that country by walking in the parade.

First time coming to Celebration of Nations? Check out this video to get a feel for the parade.

If you’re interested in getting involved in Celebration of Nations in other ways, you can:

  • Sign up to volunteer.
  • Get a vendor packet.
  • If you’re interested in the talent show, Celebrate Talent, please contact Eleanor Chapman, office support associate in international affairs, at echapman@mst.edu.
